In May 1941, as the war escalated in Europe, the XP-47B single-engine fighter appeared as a prototype from Republic’s design team. The XP-47B was intended for long-range escort missions for bombers directed into German airspace. It had a 2,000 hp R-2800 radial engine, supercharger, and eight 12.7 mm machine guns. This prototype evolved into the P-47D Thunderbolt fighter bomber with the improved bubble-type canopy, giving a wider field of view. This kit accurately depicts the P-47 flown by American Ace Stanley “Gabby” Gabreski during WWII.
F-86F Sabre is a true classic from the Korean War. The F-86F was one of the most well-equipped jet fighters of the war, and arguably the best Sabre variant, maintaining an impressive 10:1 victory ratio. This kit includes over 60 transparent and plastic parts to build the F-86F Sabre with three finishing options in a 1/72 scale. This kit accurately depicts the F-86 flown by American Ace Stanley “Gabby” Gabreski during the Korean War.
