Originally intended as a torpedo bomber during World War II, the TBF-1 Avenger filled many roles, including close support, training, and air patrol. As the biggest single-engine airframe of the war, the Avenger began production in 1940 and was delivered to the US Navy just in time for the Battle of Midway. This model authentically replicates the improved version, the TBM-3 Avenger. The TBM-3 model had improved wings, reinforcement for additional equipment, and a stronger R-2600 engine. The fully assembled model in a 1/48 scale is 254mm long and 99mm tall.
